Scaffold install time is one of those numbers builders ask about constantly because it directly hits the program. Quote a tile date too early because you assumed scaffold would be up overnight, and the whole sequence slips.
Here are the realistic numbers we work to in 2026 across the Sunshine Coast.

What Slows an Install Down
Even a great crew gets slowed by site conditions. The usual culprits:
- Tight access. Tip-truck can't get close, components carried by hand.
- Sloped or soft ground. Sole boards, packers and stepped lifts add time.
- Live trades on site. Scaffolders working around concreters, framers or roofers.
- Late design changes. "Can you add a loading bay?" mid-install is a half-day reset.
- Weather. Lightning, high wind or heavy rain stops work entirely.
Sunshine Coast Reality Check
On a tight beachside lot in Mooloolaba or Alex Headland, even a "1 day" two-storey install can stretch to 1.5 days because of council parking restrictions and craneage windows. Always pad your program by half a day.
How to Get Scaffold Up Faster (Without Cutting Corners)

- ✓ Confirm a clear site on install day — no parked utes, no stockpiled materials
- ✓ Lock the design before we mobilise (changes mid-install cost time and money)
- ✓ Give us craneage access in tight sites
Wrong Way
- ✕ Skipping ties to "save time"
- ✕ Skipping handover paperwork
- ✕ Leaving partial bracing for "later"
- ✕ Sending an unlicensed labourer to "help out"

For a typical 220m² two-storey new build in Buderim or Pelican Waters:
- Day 1, AM: Truck offload, perimeter set out, sole boards down
- Day 1, PM: First and second lifts up, ledgers and braces tied
- Day 2, AM: Third lift, guard rails, toe boards, mesh
- Day 2, midday: Inspection, tagging, handover certificate emailed
